In Extremo pictures

Stahlwerk, Düsseldorf, December 29, 2002

The support band Big Jim wasn't bad at all. They sounded a lot like Oasis, but we (and with us many others we noticed) think they'd better played for an audience that appreciated their kind of music more. It had nothing to do with In Extremo.
When In Extremo started, the audience got enthusiastic right away. Barbara put her hand in the air to show her enthusiasm.

We managed to get to the fourth row although we had to wait quite long before we got in. Alex thought it was a good place to take pictures. Unfortunately the security caught him making pictures and told him to stop. Because even Alex can't handle a German team of angry security guys, he decided to take pictures later from a place further away from them.

As always Dr Pymonte gets all of the attention playing his harp (we think this was Merseburger Zaubersprüche I). Later in the show the amplifier of the harp broke down, so he couldn't play his next solo. He then improvised by walking around clownish with the heavy harp on his shoulder.
Soon fire lit up the dark stage, spectacular as ever.
As silver colored foils were blown into the audience, the party really got started.
When In Extremo returned for their extra play, Alex took position in the middle of the crowd to take as much pictures as possible.
Now you can see more of the audience, which was very enthusiastic as you can see.
This quite sinister picture shows Die Lutter, as always standing in the back. Notice the shadow of the gallows above his head.....
Flex der Biegsame tries his best to pose for another sinister picture.
Even Das Letzte Einhorn joins his band mates in the sinister play. Notice the 'cloud' above his head...
Got you! I felt you were looking at me....
Yellow Pfeiffer and Das Letzte Einhorn interact with their fans. Yellow Pfeiffer showed he recognized Alex by winking and nodding at him. Of course he couldn't miss the 1.89 m tall and bald man showing up 7 concerts this year....
Flex sings along with Das Letzte Einhorn.
Then he walks around playing his bagpipe again, as we expect him to do.
Everybody takes position again.
Das Letzte Einhorn makes sure everybody is ready for the next part....
before starting to roar into the microphone again...
Flex der Biegsame and Yellow Pfeiffer get into action too. Must be hot with the fire.
Of course Das Letzte Einhorn needs attention now and then....
And Der Lange joins the frontline too.
When Palästinalied starts, Flex and Yellow Pfeiffer encourage the public by clapping their hands rhythmically.
After playing the last song (Lebensbeichte), the audience pays credit to Der Morgenstern, as he deserves. As usual the band members gave away credits by pointing at each other. Der Letze Einhorn was given credits by a short story by Dr. Pymonte this time. This was the first concert we've seen where this happened.
